Church of ease

Welcome to the web site for Dr Anthony J. Carr, ordained minister for Wren's Chapel, Wroxall.

Welcome to all who access this web site.

The site is in two parts. My own particular life story is explored and the extraordinary history of the church I have the privilege to be one of its ministers.

I have had an eventful and fulfilled life and some of the detail is explored in the following pages. Equally the details of what was originally Priory of St. Leonard of Wroxall and now Wren’s Chapel are examined including a copy of the Charter given to Sabina the Prioress of the Priory by Pope Alexander III in 1163. It is a rare document full of local information. I hope you will take time to read it.

If you know of anyone who was married in Wren’s Chapel from 2001 then our marriage registry will be of help to you.

Please enjoy touring the site and send an e-mail if you have enjoyed it or equally if you think we could add to the site or need prayer for a particular issue in your life please let me know.

As far back as 1141 the Church has been known as a 'Church of Ease' meaning that it drew its congregation from beyond the parish boundaries.

Visitors may like to view below our choice of marriage service words and the hymns, poems and readings we use during our marriage services.
